Amazing! i wish i had an eye for that sort of detail! it must have taken u ages, what medium did u use? Potoshop? Did u use many references? i always feel a cheat to use them, but i know it just improves my drawings, do u feel the same? :)

Thank you Kezzo, for your comment =)
And here are my answers below.
I'm not good at english, I'm afraid that my sentences are too long or too incorrect.
I hope you can decode them. X(

tools:
I usually use SAI(japanese paint application, now in free beta) and/or Painter for drawing/painting,
and Photoshop for finishing work.

references:
If you mean tracing photos or 3DCGs when drawing, I don't.
But I saw many photos about musclular people before I started this drawing.
I cannot draw details of a thing, if I don't know it at all =)

is it a cheat to use them?:
I don't think its a cheat. especially on digital tools. Photoshop and pencils are the same, they are just tools.
And the tool which you feel good/useful/handy is the best tool to you, I believe.

"A bad carpenter quarrels with his tools" ... I always quarrel though =)

I love the detail in this picture. I especially like how it looks like she's got sand on the bottom of her feet. Very nice. :)

you're welcome and this work is excellent!
for me this work could be even better if you manteined the inner lines of the gatling as done for the girl, instead to color over :)
not because you wrong, but because i think that "merge" better the girl and the weapon (expecially the upper block)...but obviously i liked very much color like you! ;)

and sorry for language, but i'm not english too :P
