I love this picture, very well drawn.

I have to ask why the rifleman? It's a walking anti-aircraft gun i mean it got some nasty long range punch but it can't defend itself at close range.

Personally i prefer the Warhammer it is similar to the Rifleman but it sacrifices a little speed for short range weapons.

Nice to see the Studio Nue designs getting some attention.

I remember this episode, thats the one in which Mark gets trapped in a cave when they tried to extract some scientists.

Looks great.

Very nicely done man.

the rifleman is extremly effective if it is on top of a hill or mountain or heavy building because with this mech the higher you are the better its range

Always sort of wished that the Japanese versions were incorporated into the other versions of the game, love the painting though either way.

Actually, some of them were used as artwork for Solaris or Clan IIC machines.

ALF874- if you google "Solaris Skunk Werks", it's an English freeware Mech builder for Battletech. It also includes files of stats for many of the designs in later technical readouts, and will print record sheets for them as well. Might let you have fun with some new units!

Awesome artwork, BTW. Wish I'd found it sooner.

One of the more stylish Inner Sphere battlemechs, and quite a good rendering. I still prefer the Rifleman IIC. ;) A Clantech refit can do wonders for any machine.

Unfortunately there is no Japanese translate of recent battletech series (we don't have even aerotech or technical readout 3025 in Japanese language!), I have played battletech boardgame with classic inner sphere mechs only.

I wish I can play newer version of battletech and enjoy more battlemechs someday :)

That to bad, the current Battletech line has lots of new weapons and units, split between two technologies.

I lost internist in BT awhile back with all the Clan Invasion stuff, and how the rules are vary limited and incompatible with itself (using the wargaming rules with the role-playing games gets really messy). I hope you have the Silhouette core rules (SilCORE) in Japan, as its the best rule system for handling realistic games (wargaming & role-playing) with spacecrafts and giant robots. The system was made by Dream Pod 9, and was made for a VOTOMS-styled game called Heavy Gear.

Beautiful work. I'm partial to the original Rifleman that was taken from Macross, but really nice work.

The 2C variant from the 3060 book is my favorite version of the rifleman by far.

Stolen from Macross.
ALF874 Featured By Owner Aug 1, 2008  Hobbyist Digital Artist
Battlemechs in "Battletech Japanese Edition" were all redesigned by Mr.Kawamori(the artist of Macross) himself when Battletech was imported to Japan.
...Those "new version" 'mechs are still a bit similar to Macross though. :)
alexthegreater Featured By Owner Aug 1, 2008  Student Digital Artist
That's pretty cool.

Although I always get annoyed when people talk about how "Western" mecha are superior and than use battletech as an example.

Battletech borrowed form Macross and Japanese mecha were inspired by Starship troopers.
Clunky walking tanks are not western and sleek ninja robots are not Japanese.

Kawamori is good at making both.

Awesome, man. I must to say... if I do use of the SAI today, it's because of you. I like your art so much, and it's great to see a every new piece of yours. When I be adult, I want to draw wonderfully like you. :worship:

Keep up the great work! :pepsi:
